
Certified Medication Technician (CMT) - $700 per person
Moberly Area Community College offers Certified Medication Technician training. The CMT program prepares individuals for employment in an intermediate care or skilled care nursing facility. The program is designed to teach skills in administration of nonparenteral medications that will qualify students to perform this procedure to assist licensed practical nurses or registered professional nurses in medication therapy. The program cost is $700 per person and consists of 60 hours of online instruction and 8-hours of supervised clinical practice in a long-term care facility. Classroom training can be completed in 12 weeks.
Prerequisite: must be a Certified Nurse Assistant for at least 6 months prior to enrollment.

The test consists of both a written and practical exam which must be performed in a licensed skilled nursing facility by an instructor who is licensed through Department of Health and Senior Services. In order to qualify, the student must first contact the Department of Health and Senior Services to determine their eligibility to challenge. If they are approved by DHSS and provide a copy of their approval letter, an exam can be scheduled. The cost is $295 per person.

Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) - $1,000 per person
Moberly Area Community College offers Certified Nursing Assistant training. The Certified Nursing Assistant program prepares individuals for employment in a long-term care facility, as well as work for home health care agencies, hospitals, doctor’s offices, private pay services, and many other employers. The program is designed to teach skills in resident care which will qualify students to perform basic nursing procedures and to assist licensed practical nurses or registered professional nurses in direct resident care. The program cost is $1,000 per person and consists of 80 hours of online instruction and 100 hours of supervised clinical practice in a long-term care facility.

In certain instances, as determined by Department of Health and Senior Services, an individual may request to take a CNA challenge exam through DHSS in order to be certified by the state to work as a Certified Nursing Assistant. Clinical Supervisor Workshop - $99 per person

This specialized one-day workshop is designed to prepare Registered Nurses and Licensed Practical Nurses to supervise nurse assistant students during their required on-the-job experience in long term care. This workshop is required by the State of Missouri and is approved by the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services. Attendees will receive a Clinical Supervisor Certificate of Attendance, and their names will be put on the Missouri State Registry of Qualified Clinical Supervisors. Requirements are: 1) Must be a registered professional nurse or current licensed practical nurse in the State of Missouri, or have a temporary permit from the Missouri State Board of Nursing with no disciplines against their license. 2) Must have at least one year experience in a long term care facility, if not currently employed by a long term care facility.
Workshops are held in Moberly at the Workforce Development Center. The cost for this workshop is $99 per person. Actual dates for the start of each workshop are posted to the right.
